Default Hi folks

looking into getting a tt at the moment

so i'd thought i'd better pop on here for some info and say hello

test drove a 180 version this morning, can anyone tell me, can you notice a hugh difference between the 180 and 225 engine when driving ie torque.

i know about the issues with the dash pod and better to get one thats had water pump and cambelt changed - are there any other common bits i should look out for ?

Yes there is a diffrence between the 180 and 225. The internals in the 225 are alot stronger then the 180 also the diffrence in HP. Although the 225 weighs more it still makes up for HP just start lighten the load such as rear seat delete. Take out the spare tire, relocate the battery to the rear or buy a lighter battery. Lighter wheels. Lighter brakes ect. IMO I would go with the 225. As for issues it would be a good thing to find one that has had the timingbelt done. I have a 02 225 Quattro and I only have 40K the only problem I have had was thermostat and temp sencer. Good luck and enjoy
